Twhirl is a desktop client that helps you manage social software such as twitter, friend feed, seesmic, etc.
It runs in the adobe air platform which means it is cross platform (multi os)
Twhirl has a great interface with many different color scheems and intergrates well with other twitter tools like twitpic. It also has a built in url shortner which is great.
Here is a list of some of the other features included in twhirl from their site:
- runs on both Windows (2000/XP/Vista) and Mac OSX
- connects to multiple Twitter, laconi.ca, Friendfeed and seesmic accounts
- notifications on new messages
- shorten long URLs (using snurl, twurl or is.gd)
- cross-post twitter updates to Pownce and Jaiku
- post images to TwitPic
- search tweets using Twitter Search and TweetScan
- timeline filtering
- color schemes
- automatically check for new versions

Just wanted to let you know, in addition to Windows and Macintosh platforms, Adobe AIR is in Beta for Linux, and is nearing release. The current build is very stable, and will run on most Linux distributions. This allows Twhirl (as well as any other AIR applications) to run on Linux as well.
